We had a terrible experience with this company. After we paid for the agreed cleaning hours, they proceeded to charge further amounts to our card on file without authorisation (amounting to £2000 in excess of what we agreed on). They claimed they cleaned our premises for 63.5 hours, which is 3 times the previously agreed hours (20), without their employee timesheets to prove this AND then proceeded to charge us for 89 hours of cleaning. In addition to the fact that they did not perform the deep clean well at all, they do not have a job sign off process in place so we were not even able to say if we were happy or not before they charged us these ludicrous amounts! I do not recommend using this company as you will likely have to deal with fraudulent transactions on your account. I have attached pictures to show that the deep clean was not satisfactory at all.

Hi, we were customers of Maid in the UK for over a year and had a great cleaner. A couple of months back they put up the price of our weekly 2.5 hour clean from £36 to £45 which my partner agreed to. Then on top of that a few weeks ago they suddenly said they would be charging VAT on top and needed to back date it to March, we said we didn't want to pay and they just took the money from our card anyway, over £100 gone.

I spoke to Michaela and was given no clear reason why they took the money, she clearly didn't understand the VAT system. Follow up emails have been ignored. I questioned why they would treat a reliable customer like this but got no response.

Apart from the misappropriation of our funds, anyone considering going with Maid in the UK should consider that 45 + VAT is £54 for a 2.5 hour clean which works out at £21.60 an hour. Good luck to anyone who thinks that is good value.

Our relationship with them has now ended, seems to be a very unprofessional company with complete disregard for its customers. So much hype on their website about being a group of mums that came together to offer an exceptional service, simply not true.

I enquired as the company last year, on the surface, looks very professional and after speaking with Michaela I thought they sounded that way too. I was a little bit sceptical when Michaela wanted our card details to secure the booking as I wouldn’t usually pay for a service I hadn’t received yet, but we went along with it. The cleaner did not turn up and had allegedly been in an accident. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when they rebooked for the following day. again the cleaner didn’t show, I was really annoyed and asked for a refund and to cancel the service. Michaela tried to say that no refund would be given due to “terms and conditions” on the website!
The cleaner then showed up 40 minutes after the booking time, no apology and when I told her it was too late she kissed her teeth at me and walked off! Low and behold, a couple of hours later ANOTHER payment was taken! After an hour on the phone to the bank fraud team we got our money back.
This company fraudulently took our money!!
