I scheduled a deep cleaning for a very small apartment. I wanted to like my service but my apartment was half cleaned. Many areas were missed. For example, I found price tags, bottle caps, dust, dirty baseboards, hair balls (see picture), old flower petals, etc. all over the floor after the cleaning was “complete.” My light furniture was never moved so the cleaning team could sweep behind it. I would recommend not using this company if you want a deep cleaning. I will spend my weekend cleaning my apartment so it defeats the purpose of hiring the service. I left a similar review via a survey plus texted and called Merry Maids about my service. So far…no response. EDIT: I was contacted by a manager. They are sending someone out to do another cleaning. EDIT 2: My apartment was re-cleaned so I’m glad they made it right - attached are more pics of my space after the re-clean. Amber and Lynette (spelling) are the two cleaners I would recommend to anyone from Merry Maids. They have a high cleaning level and great attitudes. Two items were broken/thrown away so that’s the only thing I’m upset about.

I just Love Love Love my kitchen after Shay has been here. She makes the kitchen and the rest of the house just sparkle and shine!!! We spend a lot of time at home, especially in the kitchen, entertaining family and friends. We trust Merry Maids to send us the very best people to help us before or after a family event. Reliable. Trustworthy, value-added for the money!

I used Merry Maid's of SCP located in Camp Hill today for the 1st time. My 1st contract was with Karsyn who walked me through the process of what my needs were, as little as 1 room or many, what my schedule time was and according to what I requested the price. Great communication. I was kept informed via text which I chose and was given a time, picture, name and map to follow arrival time of my team member Lynette. She arrived on time dressed in her MM uniform and brought all her MM equipment. Very pleasant and professional! She had my information regarding the 4 rooms I needed to be deep cleaned. Went straight to work. No eating, taking & I wouldn't know if she had a cell phone or not as I never saw her take one out! Did a beautiful, thoroughly cleaned everything and the rooms look beautiful..2 bathroom 's are spotless. Her manager showed up and inspected all 4 rooms! I didn't expect that. Second MM team member arrived (Amber) and also did a fantastic job on the remaining room! Great fee, great company and what a great job well done by Lynette and Amber. I'll ask for them as I set up a schedule for returning. Excellent experience and extremely productive and satisfied beyond my expectations!!

Edit: the vacuum WAS taken and returned, so why claim otherwise?

Last month we hired Merry Maids to clean our rental apartment before we moved out. We were on our way back from across the state at the time of the cleaning and had agreed to have our property management let the maids in, but this rental was still ours under the lease and we had left some items in our home, which the cleaners took and claimed to throw away without any legal permission. They had our contact information, and we had in fact been in contact with them throughout the day, but they did not ask us what to do with our items -- they simply removed them.

When we contacted them, they admitted they had taken our vacuum for company use (to reiterate: without calling or texting us, and without any reason or permission -- just took it), but claimed that everything else had just been carelessly thrown away in one bag in our dumpster. We found this bag, which contained a few items -- however, the expensive missing items, including an Aerogarden, wax warmer, live plants, paintings, workout equipment, and more, were unaccounted for. We asked if there was a second trash bag where these items were thrown away, and they said no, everything had been disposed of in one bag. This led us to the unfortunate conclusion that these items had not been disposed of, but taken (as the vacuum had been). We believe the only reason they admitted to taking the vacuum is because its possession was disclosed to their management as a useful business item (which meant it had to be returned), whereas the other items could have been taken without disclosing to the company and kept by the individual cleaners for personal use.

This was really awful for us at the time of a big life transition -- we lost gifts from family members, live plants, and useful home items that were personally meaningful, financially valuable, and that should have been safe in OUR home with a reputable company we hired and had communication with. We spent time digging through the dumpster, which was humiliating and disgusting, only to find the least valuable of the items -- some old towels, baking pans, and the ripped out plants from our Aerogarden, indicating that the item had in fact been there and was removed.

Regardless, the issues remain -- the company claims they received instructions from our property management to throw our items away, but our property manager and maintenance team has denied in writing and in person that this conversation ever occurred -- they have a policy to never throw away resident's items right away, and it's actually against the terms of the lease for them to give instructions about tenants' possessions before the lease is over, so they would not have done so. Plus, the cleaners were not hired by the complex, but privately by us, so should not have taken instructions from anyone else (a liability issue in itself). But considering property management denies this happened, we believe this is a fraudulent claim made by the individual cleaners after the fact to justify having removed the items (whether they were "disposed of," as claimed, or taken).

We contacted the company by phone and by email to try to resolve the issue peacefully, but the management refuses to even acknowledge that a mistake was made, for which they were financially and legally liable, let alone consider that a case of theft could have occurred. They don't care what happened to us or our home under the care of their company and their contract. They will not compensate us for our lost items, which is cruel and cold -- they say "they can't be held responsible," which is incredible when the fault is entirely theirs.

This is an unfortunate and frankly heinous circumstance for a public business, and sounds very similar to other cleaning theft scams. I would hate for this to happen to others who use and trust this company, especially since their management will not care for their customers who are victimized and have more than $400 of personal items stolen when they are paying more than $300 for a cleaning.
